Social Media: Can it work for you?
Our world is becoming more social every day. Millennials, the 20-30 year old generation, live and thrive on the internet. It’s used for studying, researching, learning, and most of all, socializing. This younger group likes to be in constant contact with their friends, family and peers and wants to know everything that is going on. So what better way to get your non-profit organization known within your community! An up-to-date and interesting website can be a great source of information about what your organization accomplishes and how others can get involved and help out. The use of social media can keep your supporters and donors current with up-coming events and goals that your organization sets and achieves. Some organizations may even consider taking donations online. This would allow donors a quick and efficient way to make a difference while keeping pace with their ever-changing lives. Social interaction can not only help bring in donations, it may also motivate people to get involved and volunteer!
We are interested in finding out what YOU think about social media for non-profit organizations. We want to know things like: whether social media is currently being used, and if so, what types and what kind of response has been received; have there been any inquiries regarding the organization using social media or requests to start incorporating it; and are there any concerns or hesitations that are keeping or would keep the organization from using social media? We believe that social media can be a great asset now and will continue to increase its influential value from now on! Please let us know any thoughts and opinions you may have on it too!
