Day-to-Day Operations Funding: How Important Is It?
Funding is an important element for non-profit organizations. Without adequate funding, non-profits can be forced to make cuts to their day-to-day operations in order to keep other programs going. Donations can be a large source of funding for a non-profit organization. After the recession in 2008, both the number of donations and the size of the donations received had declined. Corporations were even forced to look more closely at their giving and many saw a decrease in their donations in the years following the recession. Unfortunately, as the number of donations given to non-profit organizations has decreased, the need for the services provided by these organizations has increased.
The strategies that non-profit organizations use to obtain their funding are essential for non-profit organizations to do what they do best--provide for the needs of their community! Maybe your organization could use some new ideas and strategies to bring in the funding needed to not only keep the services provided by your organization going, but also keep your organization’s day-to-day operations running as smoothly as possible.
Our question to you is: What types of operating expenses are most difficult for your organization to get funding for? Any thoughts, ideas, and feedback are welcome!
