Crisis intervention and prevention with elders increases support and strengthens coping strategies. The elderly may be more vulnerable because changes in life events can happen in rapid succession. Even taken individually, changes in health, mobility, income, residence, retirement and death of a spouse can have a tremendous impact on elder wellbeing.
This online course is appropriate for social workers and mental health professionals, in addition to others working with seniors. Course content applies to both the general population and seniors.
